根据双方签署的股权转让协议和股东协议，中远海运集团以3.685亿欧元收购比港管理局67%的股权。目前，该协议还需要得到希腊议会批准。
签约仪式当天在希腊总理府举行。希腊总理齐普拉斯、副总理德拉加萨基斯、中国驻希腊大使邹肖力、中国远洋海运集团董事长许立荣，还有中希政商界代表200多人出席了签约仪式和招待会。
德拉加萨基斯在签约仪式后举行的招待会上说，希中两国的合作有着坚实基础，中国的“一带一路”倡议增进了两国的合作。关于这次的收购协议，德拉 加萨基斯说：“我们共同的目标是把比雷埃夫斯港打造成地中海地区最大的码头、最大的港口，我们还将在比雷埃夫斯周边建立科学园区以及其他重要配套设施。”

中国驻希腊大使邹肖力说，比港项目将带动中国对希腊投资以及双边贸易和人员往来的增长。他表示，已经开工建造的匈塞铁路将同比港一起，构成中欧陆海快线的欧洲部分，希腊有望成为新的东西贸易大通道的枢纽。
中远海运集团旗下的比港码头公司正式经营比港二、三号集装箱码头六年来，比港集装箱年吞吐量从2010年的88万标准箱增至2015年的336万标准箱，中兴、华为、惠普等大型跨国公司纷纷把该港作为自己的物流中心。
中远海运集团由中远集团和中海集团重组而成，于今年2月在上海正式成立，新集团成立时拥有总资产6100亿元人民币，员工11.8万人。
