IT资讯讯 4月9日消息,前几天,Nvidia在GTC2016大会上推出了新一代的计算卡Tesla P100,其强大的多精度运算性能受到了业界极大的关注,目前IBM已经宣布与Nvidia合作,共同开发下一代的OpenPOWER服务器。

与其他服务器不同的是,新一代的OpenPOWER服务器将会采用Nvidia公司全新研制的NV-link数据通道。其有效带宽高达40GB/S,这一全新的数据通道能够提供更多的带宽和更快的传送速度,让整个服务器的性能得到大幅度地提高,同时也为未来的人工智能与高性能运算做好最充足的准备。

IBM中的沃森部门也将加入到整个服务器的研发中来,据称,OpenPOWER初期将会使用IBM研发的4个POWER8处理器,每一个处理器拥有12个核心和96个线程的恐怖参数,同时内存容量高达1TB之多,在加入了Nvidia Tesla P100之后,相信无论是人工智能还是其他的高性能计算,在如此强大的服务器的加持下都不再是问题,而且更为重要的是IBM下一代的POWER9将以此为模板进行开发。可能未来的高性能服务器就以高性能CPU和GPU相结合的方式而发展。
