在李小璐被诈捐后，4月5日，莆田网安支队民警通过网上巡查侦破涉案嫌疑人郭某生行径。连日来，通过成都警方、首都警方等方配合，收集郭某充足的作案证据，并成功抓获诈捐嫌疑人郭某。
据莆田网安支队介绍，诈捐涉案人员郭某生现年29岁，无业游民，或“职业骗捐人”。2011年始，郭某生通过天涯等诸多论坛和微博等社交媒体平台，以“疾病求助”名义进行诈捐。
“嫌疑人以女儿、父亲、母亲、老婆等家人患恶疾的名义进行诈捐。目前获悉，郭某先后涉嫌7个诈捐案件，七个诈捐案件分别开设银行账号。涉案人员郭某在审理过程声称，最早为妻求助等信息是真实的。”莆田市公安局网安支队四大队副大队长卜健说，郭某在首次求助尝到甜头后，“铤而走险”屡屡作案。
东南网记者通过网上搜索“郭某生”实名，发现在多个网络论坛和社交媒体平台上，郭某生发布的涉及“牛皮癣妻子产儿”、“胃癌父亲”多份求助信息仍在。救助之下，有不少热心网友互动，在以“郭某生”实名的系列求助信息下，也有网友对其提出质疑。
截至目前，李小璐遭诈捐案涉案银行账号显示，在3月13日至26日，13天内，郭某共诈捐3万余元，受骗人员达300余人，其中，李小璐捐款约1.7万元。其余6个账户的情况，莆田警方仍在侦查。
目前，此案莆田警方正在进一步审理当中。
