4月8日，记者来到新泰市中医院十楼外一科病房，王怀娇面色苍白，躺在病床上不停地呻吟，嘴里不停地喊着“啊、啊、啊疼”。外一科护士长朱美介绍，3月14日，王怀娇病情加重，由一位朋友帮忙送进了医院。经过诊断，发现王怀娇不仅患有肠胃道息肉病、贫血，而且左下肢深静脉血栓，整个左腿全都浮肿，20多天只能躺在床上，没法动弹，大小便没法自理。而且不吃不喝，一直靠输液在维持着。整个人病情十分严重，时刻面临死神的威胁。“自从住进病房，她的肚子、腿等疼痛难忍，她不停地喊着疼，声音特别凄惨，让周围的人心里很不是滋味。”朱美说着说着，眼圈里泛起了泪花。
医院护士告诉记者，这次王怀娇住院，只有她的姑姑过来看过一次，其他的亲人、朋友没有一个来看过她，也都联系不上。“没有亲人来，哪怕是电话也没有一个。”王怀娇说，家人不让她进家门，只让她住爷爷的小屋子，但那个屋子根本没法住人，她住院前只能在外面租房住。
