  新华社北京4月10日电 北方持续晴暖、南方暴雨成灾,近期中国天气“两极分化”明显。放在全球背景下,这种极端天气现象绝非孤例。很可能成为“史上最强”的厄尔尼诺虽然峰值已过,但仍在强有力地搅动全球气候,对其影响必须警惕。


  厄尔尼诺是太平洋赤道海域水温异常升高引起的一种异常气候现象,它往往会引起太平洋周边多个地区气候异常,其中一些地区暴雨频繁,出现洪涝灾害,另一些地区则高温少雨,严重干旱。


  世界气象组织2月发布公报说,尽管还不能确定是否为“最强”,但去年至今年厄尔尼诺的强度至少是有记录以来最强之一。该组织秘书长彼得里·塔拉斯说,厄尔尼诺现象在去年“给各大洲带来了极端天气,并助推了全球创纪录的高温”。

  特别需要警惕的是,由于大气对厄尔尼诺的反应具有一定滞后性,厄尔尼诺本身的强度与其影响力并不同步,比如当前其强度已经下降,但影响力还相当强,防灾工作丝毫不可松懈。


  中国水利部珠江防汛抗旱总指挥部近日表示,受厄尔尼诺现象影响,2016年中国气象年景可能总体偏差,降水偏多、涝重于旱,珠江流域重现1998年洪水、甚至更大规模洪水的可能性很大。


  此外,有气象模型显示,此次厄尔尼诺之后,较强的拉尼娜现象可能在今年下半年接踵而至。这也意味着今年全年气候会有很强的不确定性,出现极端天气的风险较高。


  拉尼娜指赤道太平洋东部和中部海水大范围持续异常变冷的现象,同时也伴随着全球性气候混乱。强拉尼娜现象出现的当年冬季和次年春季,中纬度大气环流的经向度可能加强,中国易出现气温偏低。比如2007年底中国南方出现的雨雪冰冻天气,被认为与强拉尼娜现象有关。
