　　工作人员介绍说，在上海中心580米的高空屋顶上，每年平均风速估计可达每秒8米至10米，非常适合利用风力发电。

　　尽管风力发电机多种多样，但归纳起来无外乎两类：一是水平轴风力发电机，风轮的旋转轴与风向平行；二是垂直轴风力发电机，风轮的旋转轴垂直于地面或者气流方向。上海中心选择了前者，它也是国内第一个在超高层建筑中采用水平轴涡轮式风力发电机的项目。

　　全球最快电梯直达观光层

　　记者登上其中一部电梯，从地下二启动，只见屏幕上显示着电梯的即时速度：每秒18米！经过的楼层数字不停跳动，只需55秒，就到达了119楼观景台。这三部电梯，已经超越秒速16.83米的台北101电梯，成为全球最快电梯。

　　据介绍，为避免电梯高速移动产生的震动和风声造成乘客不适，电梯特别采用特殊导轨和流线型外罩，移动起来相当平稳，即使在地上竖起一枚钱币，也能做到纹丝不动。
