The Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Khmer old consensus is the only way to address the issue of South China Sea

Hua Chunying, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regular press briefing on April 25, Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently visited Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, and with the three countries reached an important consensus on the South China Sea.

Hua Chunying, said that China and Brunei, Cambodia, Laos consensus reached by the three countries, including the United Nations on the basis of international law, law of the Sea Convention, with the provisions and spirit of the Declaration on the conduct of parties in the South China Sea in line reflects the basic principles of dealing with maritime issues. China believes that it is dealing with the South China Sea dispute, maintaining regional peace and stability, the only correct and feasible way.

外交部：中柬文老达成的共识是处理南海问题唯一途径

　　外交部发言人华春莹在4月25日的例行记者会上介绍，王毅外长日前访问文莱、柬埔寨、老挝，并与三国就南海问题达成重要共识。

　　华春莹介绍，共识一，是中方和三国都认为南沙部分岛礁存在的争议不是中国和东盟之间的问题，不应影响中国——东盟关系；共识二，是中方和三国都认为应尊重各国根据国际法自主选择争端解决方式的权利，不赞成单方面强加于人的做法；共识三，是中方和三国都认为应根据《南海各方行为宣言》第四条的规定，坚持由直接当事国通过对话协商解决领土和海洋权益争议；共识四，是中方和三国都认为中国和东盟国家有能力通过合作共同维护好南海的和平稳定，域外国家应发挥建设性作用，而不是相反。

　　华春莹表示，中方与文莱、柬埔寨、老挝三国达成的共识建立在包括《联合国海洋法公约》在内的国际法基础上，与《南海各方行为宣言》的规定和精神完全一致，体现了处理相关海上问题的基本原则。中方认为，这才是处理南海有关争议、维护地区和平稳定的唯一正确、切实可行的途径。
