IHS数据显示，三星显示第一季度出货量为2243片，市场占有率为14.5%，排名第五。而前四位依次为LG Display（3749万，24.3%）、京东方（2666万，17.3%）、友达（2444万、15.8%）、群创光电（2291万、14.8%）。
在2015年全年，三星显示在大尺寸液晶面板市场上出货1亿2165万片的出货量，市场份额已跌至第三。虽然今年开始向国内小米、乐视等互联网公司供应曲面液晶屏幕，但依旧未能阻挡市场占有率下滑趋势。
第一季度中，三星显示的下滑是因LCD面板工程转换过程中的良品率下降导致而成的。
此外大尺寸PC显示器及笔记本电脑的市场需求在减少，三星显示于去年年底关闭了位于韩国忠清南道天安工厂的5世代生产线，将设备出售给中国厂商，其全部8个LCD生产线中已关闭5个。
而第一季度液晶面板市场上，韩国企业宗地占有率为38.8%，已经大幅落后于中国大陆及台湾市场企业的47.9%的占比。
面对中国市场拉低价格走量的电视营销策略，韩国厂商已经遭遇到一定困难。三星、LG纷纷欲转型高端战略，以高附加值面板为主，推进差异化产品。
