据新华社报道，近年来，至少近20名地厅级以上落马官员迷信鬼神、风水。观海解局（微信ID：guanhaijiejv)记者梳理了11名落马官员，发现其相信风水，求神拜佛无外乎与仕途升迁、个人保权、贪腐后希望神明庇佑有关。
统计
5.6%的县处级公务员相当迷信
2007年由《民主与科学》出版的《中国县处级公务员科学素养调查报告》就显示，47.6%的县处级公务员不相信迷信现象。此外，一半以上的县处级公务员多少都存在相信求签、相面、星座预测和周公解梦4种迷信的情况。
《调查报告》显示，县处级公务员自称相信“相面”这种迷信形式的比例最高，为28.3%；自称相信“周公解梦”的人数比例为第二，为18.5%；自称相信“星座预测”的比例为13.7%；自称相信“求签”的县处级公务员人数比例最低，为6.0%。值得注意的是，其中5.6%的人对4种迷信现象和“灾难预测”持“很相信”和“有些相信”的态度。也就是说，有5.6%的县处级公务员相当迷信。
与2005年发布的《中国公众科学素养调查报告》中有关数据相比，县处级公务员不相信迷信的比例仅比公众高出6.1个百分点，其中县处级公务员相信相面的比例甚至略高于公众。记者根据公开报道整理出来以下几种迷信的原因，无不跟权钱有关。
升迁

原湖南省政府副秘书长唐见奎，为求不断升迁，经常找“大师”问计。他最崇拜的“大师”是南岳衡山一座小庙里的一名和尚，因为这名和尚曾“算准”了他职务升迁过程中的几件大事。为此，他大笔一挥，拨出200万元的财政专款，修了一条通往这座小庙的水泥路。
1996年，河北省原省委常委、常务副省长丛福奎到河北任职后，因认为仕途已到顶点而产生了心理不平衡。在“大师”殷凤珍的鼓动下，丛福奎在家里设了佛堂和道台，每月初一、十五都要烧香、念经、打坐、拜佛。为了得到神的“保佑”，他还在被褥下铺了五道佛令，在枕头下压了五道道符。“布阵”完毕后，他与殷凤珍狼狈为奸，打着做佛事、善事的幌子，多次向私企老板收取钱财，累计多达1700余万元人民币。

徐国元在担任赤峰市委副书记、市长期间，利用职务之便,单独或伙同妻子李敏杰，先后收受钱物折合人民币1048万余元。堕入腐败深渊后,他试图靠祈求神灵保佑,来获得心理上的安慰。他在家中常年供奉神龛,日日烧香拜佛,每次收到钱款,都要在神龛下面放一段时间,祈求不要被发现。他隐匿赃物的箱包也极为讲究——四角各放一捆钞票,中间放一尊金佛或菩萨塑像,以求“四平八稳”。
深圳市社保局原局长邱其海，在1994年上任后的四年时间内，先后收受人民币79.999万元、港币2万元的贿赂。据透露，邱其海自从收受第一笔贿赂后，就开始求神拜佛，只要见到庙宇，就会进去烧香磕头。而且，每次听到警笛声，他都会赶紧念叨几句“菩萨保佑”。
被查处的海南省屯昌县工商局原局长吴岩，先后6次向原海南省工商局局长马招德行贿20余万元，而他对求神拜佛也情有独钟。为了方便参拜，他在家里布置了两个佛堂，每个月都要领着亲信，一道虔诚地参拜菩萨，祈求自己的腐败罪行不要曝光。
原因
官员迷信源于“总开关”出问题
《中国新闻网》评论指出，理想信念缺失是最根本的原因，信念迷失者，常有歧路彷徨。一个人没有信仰，精神就容易坍塌、崩溃；一个党员干部，共产主义理想、马列主义信念不强，心灵就空虚，腐朽没落的东西就会乘虚而入，行为准则和行动指南自然出现偏差，只好通过烧香拜佛，给自己空虚的内心找到寄托，在冥冥之中通过虔诚供奉来获得一种虚无缥缈的慰藉和超脱，向“神秘力量”祈求满足于实现个人功利的目标。邝光华就是典型的反面教材。他反思说，不问苍生问鬼神，常常把风水先生的话当做金科玉律，工作中遇到困难就痴迷求助他们，自己俨然一具躯壳，任人摆布。
个人欲望膨胀，是一些官员大搞迷信的另一个原因。个别官员把升迁寄予“宁可信其有、不可信其无”的鬼神身上，求神佛保佑自然成了他们达到个人欲望的重要途径。没升官的希望通过迷信和风水给自己转运，升了官的寻求“神明”恩赐步步高升、飞黄腾达。
对一些已经贪腐的干部来说，保佑逃避惩处，则是他们求神拜佛的诉求。随着惩治腐败力度越来越大，“老虎”“苍蝇”无处遁形，做贼心虚的贪官惶惶不可终日，一有风吹草动便提心吊胆，唯恐东窗事发，但又心存侥幸不愿坦白自首。此时自然乞求“神功”帮助逢凶化吉、消灾弭祸，借拜神改风水逃避惩处。
专家认为，党员干部理想信念这个“总开关”出了问题，人生观、价值观、世界观出了偏差，虔诚地叩拜，“大师”的指点，都是“瞎子点灯白费蜡”。只有牢记全心全意为人民服务的宗旨，权为民所用、情为民所系、利为民所谋，才能平安无事。
