  荆楚网消息(记者周三春 通讯员王潇潇)“临床全身‘全数字PET’问世后,能让癌症等一系列重大疾病得到更早、更精确的检测、判定。”武汉光电国家实验室(筹)研究员、华中科技大学教授谢庆国表示。4月27日,谢庆国和所带领团队在武汉宣布,已成功研制出全球首台可用于临床全身检查的全数字PET设备。在检测精度提高的同时,国人PET检查的成本有望进一步降低。


  据了解,正电子发射断层成像仪(英文缩写PET)是继超声、CT和核磁共振之后当今最顶尖的医学影像技术。在疾病诊断方面,其成像精度要远优于前两种。可更早更灵敏地发现肿瘤等疾病病灶,诊断癌症,为人类造福。


  但因超高速闪烁脉冲信号难以数字化的技术瓶颈,PET难以实现全数字化,在较长时内只有模拟和模拟数字混合型机器。


  2001年以来,谢庆国带领团队致力于全数字化和精准测量的“全数字PET”研究。在2013年团队即研制出了全数字化PET探测器及世界首台小型数字PET机器,并成功应用于小动物的试验上。


  据介绍,此次研制的首台临床全身“全数字PET”由300多个全数字PET探测模块组成,每个探测模块均使用先进的闪烁晶体及新型光电倍增器件。同时借助全数字采样和信号处理算法,其空间分辨率已达到2.2毫米,比当前进口设备的最高水平提升近一倍。“一粒芝麻大小的肿瘤病灶都能精确检测出来,检查时间比传统PET检查也要减少一半。”谢庆国说。


  此前,全球仅有西门子、通用电气、飞利浦等能独立研制和生产PET成像设备。谢庆国表示,当前他和团队研发的全数字PET,在所有检测性能指标上均好于业内水平。目前,这一设备即将在协和医院与武汉大学人民医院分别进行临床试验。


  据了解,当前国内PET检查费用动辄过万元。国产全数字PET一旦通过临床试验,获得相关批文走向市场,将大大降低国内PET设备的造价及检测成本。这将极大地推动面向癌症早期检测的PET检查向普及化发展。
