据台湾“东森新闻云”报道,台湾科博馆考古学家近日在台中发现一对约莫4800年到5000年之间的母子骨骸,应是台湾中部至今最古老的人类化石。台湾自然科学博物馆主任屈慧丽表示,遗骸被挖掘出时发现,母亲紧紧抱着婴儿并深情凝视,令在场工作人员十分吃惊。

此次考古从2014年5月开始,耗时1年完成。在安和遗址约400平方米的面积里,由科博馆人类学组主任屈慧丽发掘约48具排列整齐的人骨,4000多件陶片、三连杯、双连杯,及许多石斧、板岩箭簇、闪玉锛等器物。此外也有石虎、狗、大型鱼鳃盖骨、鱼脊椎骨、山羌、鬼鼠、蛇、鲨鱼牙齿、贝壳、古代稻米、种子等史前生态遗留。其中还发现鲨鱼牙齿,可能代表当时此地距离海岸线相当近。

据了解,这次发掘出土的一具成人遗骨左侧伴随另一婴儿遗骨,成人似用左手托住并低头俯视婴儿。成人遗骨上的特征显示其为年轻女性,大约20-25岁,身高约160公分,婴儿约50公分,无法看出性别但从身长与骨骼状况判断其出生6个月内。目视可见成人遗骨右上颚缺齿3颗,左上颚缺齿至少2颗,推测可能与从前盛行的拔牙习俗有关。

考古挖掘中,还发现一具身高约155公分的男性遗骨,由于牙齿状况不佳,推断年龄可能已届中年。这具人骨出土时颈部置有一鲨鱼齿形玉饰,通体磨裂,大小约5×3.5公分,于钝端左右各带有一直径约0.3公分的穿孔,材质应为花莲丰田玉,分析为其陪葬品。

科博馆人类学组主任屈慧丽表示,科博馆将持续清理与研究这批珍贵的人骨材料,进行体质测量及特征观察,并与墓葬资料做综合分析。由于遗址的年代甚早,未来亦将尝试与岛外团队合作古代DNA实验。
