据央广网报道，去年7月1号开始，河北、安徽、山东、四川、贵州、云南6省率先成为跨省异地缴纳交通违法罚款试点省份。今年5月1号起，全国又新增了十个试点省市，分别是北京、山西、辽宁、黑龙江、上海、浙江、福建、湖南、重庆和陕西。这意味着从今年开始，全国驾驶员在上述16个省份发生交通违法行为，都可以跨省市在交通指定的代收银行缴纳罚款。

但是，并非所有的跨省交通违法都能在异地缴纳交通罚款，需要同时满足两个条件：首先，被处罚驾驶员必须是异地驾驶员，也就是被处罚的驾驶员所持有的驾照发证机关以及做出处罚决定的机关不是同一省市。

其次，必须是民警现场执法后开具的罚款，不适用于电子、监控违法记录以及民警在车辆上粘贴的《违法停车告知单》。通俗地说，就是民警现场开的罚款，并让驾驶员当场确认的，就是现场查获的交通违法行为。

驾驶员拿到罚单之后，回到本地之后，只能在做出处罚决定的公安交管部门指定的代理银行缴纳，也可以在代理银行的网上银行、手机银行和自助终端缴纳。
