今天（5月2日），成都商报记者联系到了百度公司公关部门相关负责人。该人士表示，在知道魏则西去世的消息后，公司专门有同事給魏则西父亲打电话慰问沟通，通话过程大约在13分钟左右。百度公司在这件事情上没有必要也没有可能撒谎。

百度公司公关部一位负责人告诉成都商报记者，百度公司此前发表官方声明称联系了魏则西父亲，此事没有必要也不可能撒谎。在得知魏则西过世之后，百度一位同事联系上了魏则西的父亲，主要是慰问，也想要安抚以及沟通，看否为他们做一些事情。据负责人称，魏则西的父亲并没有抗拒，也主动说了和魏则西治病相关的事情。通话时长约为十三分钟，最后魏则西的父亲表示有点累需要休息，通话才结束。
这位负责人表示，和魏则西家人沟通是真实存在的，也有通联记录和内容记录，但目前不会对外公布录音。主要是考虑到这段对话中还涉及到第三方，内容可能对第三方有损害，在没有经过核实清楚的情况下，公布录音会造成不必要的伤害，百度公司也不希望再对魏则西的家人带来其他困扰。

而在魏则西事件发酵之后，武警北京总队第二医院的ICP备案被发现是个人，域名注册信息被发现是一家医院投资管理有限公司，这家公司则被认为有莆田系背景。那么为什么百度没有对医院的网络运营机构进行进一步的审核？
百度公司公关部负责人回应称，很多传统行业其实并不具备独立的网页运营能力，因此外包也是比较普遍的现象。作为百度公司来说，他们主要是审核医院主体的资质是否真实有效，是不是冒充行为。武警北京总队第二医院提供的资质审查是真实有效的，他们也找过相关部门查验过。

百度公关部的这名负责人对此回应称，医疗广告收紧之后，百度也下线了一大批存在问题的信息。甚至有个别莆田系医院的人到百度公司来围堵闹事，还有员工被威胁过。百度公司能做的，就是不和这些存在问题的公司来往，永远不让其在百度做推广。
该负责人还说，竞价排名体系，其实一直是基础的互联网广告展示原则，算是一种广泛的业界模式。以前，的确给钱就可以上广告。但从2009年开始，百度推广升级后，做企业推广要考虑的因素会很多，价格只是其中一个因素，这和商户的信誉、评价、合作时间以及提供的推广内容和网民搜索相关度是否一致，这种展示相对智能，考虑因素多维，绝对不是完全以钱去衡量。搜索内容如果和展示内容没有关系，也不会展示。如果公司实力强大，可以优先展示。相反，如果公司注册时间不久，就不可能优先。但目前百度没有披露搜索算法，是担心披露后会有人想尽办法明明达不到要求却做一套达到标准的东西。
