　　自从去年6月，他宣布自己的三串佛珠被人估价1.5亿元，并计划耗资4亿元修建黄龙寺之后，他每天都要接到上百个电话。电话中，多数人是被他年过七旬依旧要重修寺庙表示感动，但也有人骂他，说他太过出风头，太高调，不像个出家人。

　　74岁的方丈释持忠走起来虎虎生风。后山上，一条盘山路刚刚修整完。原来有些大殿倒塌了，他就按照一些记载和老照片进行修复，从2004年至2007年，花去4000多万元。

　　在释持忠的规划中，新修寺庙初步预算的资金需要4亿元。为此，释持忠拿出自己随身多年的3串佛珠出来拍卖。早在2014年，释持忠就因为这件事成了网红。

　　当时，弟子将他珍藏的3串佛珠拿到上海的拍卖公司去拍卖，拍卖公司估值1.5亿元，释持忠也因此被称为“亿元和尚”。

　　因为拍卖公司要收150万元手续费，释持忠没同意。随后，他又将自己价值10亿元的藏品在云南进行了为期四天的公开展览、结缘。“亿元和尚”的名号更是传遍全国。

　　但这为他招来了灾祸。2014年11月25日深夜，几名小偷从厕所翻进他的厢房，将放在卧室门外的3串佛珠和一件青铜器盗走。这件事，一度让释持忠心灰意冷，他跪在菩萨像前哭了1天1夜。

　　他开始反思，“佛门讲有因必有果，也许是因为我之前太高调了，让大家知道了我手头有这样的稀世珍宝，才招来了贼。”

　　成富商后选择出家

　　释持忠1942年出生在云南红河州一个彝族家庭，从小跟父亲学习中医，练功夫。

　　从25岁开始，释持忠开始经商，生意越做越大，主要是开矿山和做建材、房地产。到了1993年，他手下一共有13家企业，身家超过20亿元。

　　52岁那年，释持忠做出了一个惊人举动——他决定出家。2004年，释持忠初到黄龙寺。这座有800多年历史的古寺因为年久失修，到处是残垣断壁。

　　与新建寺庙相比，修缮老寺庙更麻烦、更花钱。

　　从来不愁钱的释持忠生平头一回缺钱。他住的僧舍漏水，躺在床上，抬头就能看到天。他每天都很愁：光铺一条从山脚通向半山腰、方便把建筑材料运送上山的路，就得十几万元。

　　10年“化缘”5000万

　　出家后的释持忠仍显示出超强的商业头脑。他先把目光投向了建水古城的游客：他写了些“佛”字或“禅”字，拿到街上摆摊去卖。建水紫陶十分名贵，他就找到当地一家陶企，为他们在茶具上写字。“因为我名气大，每写一个字两三千元。”

　　渐渐地，很多人找上门来求字求画。他画得最多的是老虎——人们认为老虎避邪，“需求量”最大。听说他字画功底深厚，有云南的陶瓷企业找到他，让他画一套五百罗汉画像在瓷器上，烧制出来一套给他3万元。

　　而从2013年开始，这些字画的“结缘价格”开始飙升，原因是释持忠画的一幅长达312米的《五百罗汉朝菩萨图》获得了“世界最长画卷”吉尼斯世界纪录 认证。消息一出，最贵的一幅画“结缘”了几十万元：“他们认为我的字画肯定值钱了，也有收藏价值”， 释持忠笑着说，这幅画他画了5年，曾有人以4000 万元想要这幅画，被他拒绝了。

　　截至目前，黄龙寺已经由十年前一个寂寂无闻的破烂寺庙，发展成一个香火旺盛的大寺。如今，每年到这里参观礼佛的游客有10万人，香火十分旺盛。释持忠用自己的商业头脑，让这个小庙“起死回生”。

　　12年间修复原有的6院18座殿堂，花了4000万元，而这只是一期工程。再加上此前修的40多座寺庙，出家前的积蓄快花完了。 转眼，二期工程开工了。

　　愿贱卖10亿藏品修寺庙

　　但释持忠并不想为了钱而让寺庙商业化。为了修寺，释持忠卖了昆明的房子，又琢磨着把出家前的藏品卖掉。

　　“现在很多寺庙是商业化经营，和尚领工资，成功劝香客烧炷高香，他们还能按一定的百分比提成。”释持忠说，自己接手寺庙后这样的诱惑很多，但他都忍住了。

　　去年，一名深圳商人听说他建寺庙需要钱，主动找到他，说斥资5亿元将寺庙重建任务承担下来，面对这样的诱惑，释持忠最终拒绝了。

　　目前筹集的资金距离修庙所需的4亿元还有很大缺口，既不想让寺庙商业化，又要筹集到4亿元，释持忠有些束手无策。“我的收藏品，价值大约还有10亿元。如果有缘人愿意帮助我完成建庙的宏愿，我的藏品我愿意低价结缘，说白了就是贱卖。”

　　我是非传统型和尚

　　和少林寺方丈释永信一样，出名后的释持忠也在网上引起了极大非议。

　　释持忠的方丈院内装着监控系统，30平方米的方丈室供他平时接待访客，方丈室后方有一个游泳池，他的这个方丈院也被很多人称为豪宅。不过，释持忠对豪宅 这个说法并不认同。“所有的方丈在升座仪式当天必须要有方丈院，寺庙必须达到一定规格才行，跟大寺相比，我这个方丈院其实已经很寒碜了。”

　　对于开豪车的说法，他也否认。“你刚好给我澄清一下，所谓豪车就是一辆斯巴鲁越野车，这哪里算豪车啊。”

　　2009年，释持忠做了一个更大胆的尝试：把自己的亲身经历拍成一部电视剧。但一直没机会播出，他也未能成为“影视明星”，这1000多万元也就打了水漂。

　　为了劝人向善，他还编写了10首佛教歌曲，而MTV男主角正是他本人。

　　释持忠说，自己可能不是一个好和尚。在他看来，今天寺庙的生存环境发生了很大变化，寺庙不可能绝世独立，和尚也要吃饭，庙里的50名出家人，一年也要支 出20万元。作为方丈的他不可能整天只吃斋念佛，而要学会用现代方式管理寺庙，还要和官员打交道。“有人说我是个政治和尚，其实我只是一个非传统型和尚罢 了。”

　　记者：你一个身家数十亿的富豪，为何要出家呢？

　　释持忠：这世界上的钱是赚不完的。我花了30年时间去赚钱，但说实话，那几十年我并不快活，整天和官员打交道，喝酒，去歌舞厅，感觉整个人被一些世俗的东西牵着鼻子走。身体也熬垮了。所以决定换一种生活方式。

　　记者：早在两年前你就红了，你知道吗？

　　释持忠：知道。我一开始还有时间上早课，到后来我连上早课的时间都没有了。很多人知道我在这里修寺庙，都给我打电话，说他们那里的寺庙也破败了，让我去修。但我没那个精力。

　　记者：估价1.5亿元的三串佛珠被盗，对你打击是不是很大？

　　释持忠：一开始我都快崩溃了。但仅仅过了一天，我就想开了，也许这就是我造的孽吧，你一个出家人，不好好修行，整天接受采访，这不是造孽是什么？肯定会受到惩罚，就当是吸取教训吧。

　　记者：有人说你有别墅、豪宅，开豪车，还有生活作风问题？

　　释持忠：所谓豪宅你都看到了，就是我方丈院那块地方，不算豪。豪车也就是一辆价值20多万元的越野车。说我生活作风有问题是造谣，我今年都70多岁了，并且我在出家前没结过婚，也没有子女。

　　记者：寺庙有经营性收入来源吗？

　　释持忠：没有。主要靠我一个人，画画写字，人家给寺庙一些钱。我也不想把寺庙搞成企业来做。有人跟我说过搞一个素食斋什么的，我没同意。

　　记者：你这么出名，没有人找上门来出修庙所需的4亿元吗？

　　释持忠：有。找上门来的很多。前段时间有个老板过来，说帮我修庙，但口气太大了。他说，“你就乖乖在寺庙念你的经，其他一切我来搞。”我听他的意思是想把庙圈起来烧高香挣钱，我没同意。

　　记者：你不认同别人说你是第二个释永信？
