问：据报道，美国国防部称，10日美国海军舰艇在中国永暑礁附近实施了“航行自由”行动，以“挑战一些南海声索国过度的海洋主张”。请问中方对此有何评论？
答：5月10日，美国“劳伦斯”号驱逐舰未经中国政府允许，非法进入中国南沙群岛有关岛礁邻近海域。中方有关部门依法对美方舰艇实施了监视、跟踪和警告。美方军舰有关行为威胁中国主权和安全利益，危及岛礁人员及设施安全，损害地区和平稳定，中方坚决反对美方这一行为，将继续采取必要措施维护主权和安全。
中国对南沙群岛及其附近海域拥有无可争辩的主权。长期以来，中国和南海沿岸国均致力于通过合作维护南海的航行和飞越自由，尽到了应尽的义务。实际上，各国行使航行和飞越自由、各国船舶经过南海从没发生过问题。
1979年美方抢在《联合国海洋法公约》签订前推出“航行自由”计划，是赤裸裸的凭借军事力量挑战新的海洋秩序，一开始就遭到许多国家的反对。美方至今不加入《公约》，实际上是将自己的利益凌驾于《公约》之上。美方打着“航行和飞越自由”的旗号，在南海炫耀武力，派遣军用舰机抵近甚至进入中国南沙群岛有关岛礁邻近海空域进行挑衅，这才是对南海和平稳定和航行飞越自由的最大威胁。
