另据同一学校的网友在贴吧爆料，该学校在5.1-10.1期间有限电标准，只有晚上8.30-10:00供电，一天就供电90分钟。而学校这样做的目的只是为了防止学生晚上熬夜，影响白天课上操作机器的准确性。

据大众网报道，山东烟台职业学院公寓管理科苏科长在回答媒体询问时解释称，每年五一到十一期间，学校都会执行夏季用电时间，即每天只在晚上8:30到10:00这个时间段向学生公寓供电。对于这样的供电时间安排，学校一方面出于学生用电的安全考虑，防止火灾这样的事情发生。另一方面，是基于学校专业的特殊性考虑。

苏科长说，该校是高职院校，除了会计和英语专业，大部分专业都是实际操作课程，白天上课时常常需要操作机器设备，为了防止学生晚上熬夜，影响白天课上操作机器的准确性，所以才决定只供电到10点，这也是为了学生的人身安全着想。

面对部分学生对于学校供电时间的不满，苏科长称，更改供电时间这个问题需要学校多个部门共同决定，目前还没有延长供电时间的安排。
