北京市卫计委通报称：这名患者为29岁女性，山东省烟台市人。患者于2016年4月前往委内瑞拉，当地时间5月11日出现发热、伴有少量皮疹，13日（北京 时间）乘机回国。入境时，机场出入境检验检疫部门经初筛，考虑其疑似感染寨卡病毒，遂派员陪同患者前往医院就诊，随即收入医院治疗，目前患者病情稳定。
5月15日，患者相关标本经北京市疾控中心初检、中国疾控中心复核，该患者唾液、尿液样本寨卡病毒检测阳性，北京市卫生计生委组织专家组会诊，根据患者流行病学史、临床表现，结合实验室检查结果，诊断该患者为输入性寨卡病毒感染病例。
北京市卫计委通报称，此前，市卫计委组织专家对输入性寨卡病毒感染病例带来的传播风险进行了评估。专家认为，寨卡病毒属于蚊媒传播疾病，主要通过埃及伊蚊叮咬感染。北京市监测无埃及伊蚊，因此，输入性病例引发传播并进一步扩散的风险较低。
