Invading Japanese troops in Nanjing massacre added "proof positive": fighting the Japanese army took the Republic Airport corpses
CNS, Nanjing, May 18 (reporter Shen Ran)-curator brush Twitter brush out of the historical materials of rare old photographs, private letters, phone calls, door-to-door pleaded, finally struck a chord with collectors willing to generously donated, so that the precious historical information into Nanjing massacre by the Japanese invading army a "solid proof". 18th, video collector Wang in Beijing, officially to the Japanese invading troops killed in the Nanjing massacre Memorial Hall (hereinafter jiangdong gate Memorial Hall) donated the image information, taken by fought the Japanese army of the North sent to commemorate the original photo, which left Republic Airport in the corpses of the victims of the tragic scene.
According to Wang introduced by the donors, the album is looking for Japanese occupation Dingzhou (Mr Wang's hometown) accidentally found images, "should be a collector in Japan on the flea market purchase, after the was removed, and I bought. ”
And the album chance came to Nanjing jiangdong gate in Memorial Hall. Museum curator Zhang Jianjun recalls "found" the album that night, "is the end of March this year, when at home the rest of the time, on Twitter used to see if there are any record related to the Nanjing massacre, who knew just in time to see some old black and white photos of Mr Wang. I was surprised to see, this photo is very special. ”
Zhang Jianjun, told reporters that he was as "jiangdong gate Memorial staff member" status, sent private letters to the Wang, and hopes to be able to contact him, and after several private letters and phone, Wang does not clear "jiangdong gate Memorial", "name", so it was removed to understand.
On the understanding that the Memorial has its name, travelled to Beijing, Zhang Jianjun led staff directly to the door, "then see the photo, I would say to Mr Wang, the historical materials for the Memorial is of great significance, do not know if you could donate to us. Mr Wang was moved and agreed on the spot. ”
Reporters through this easy photo albums, this is a frame fancy photo albums, cover for leather pressing battlefield pattern shading, on the right marked "North Branch send Memorial", right next to the album owner's name "island Thai men" album liner black tissue paper. From the cover photo gallery signature shows that this is a Japan album of invading soldiers.
Paste the first few pages of the album is compromised the city's cachet, is mounted on the backing paper on the back of more than more than 100 2-8-inch black and white silver halide photo. Although more than 70 years have passed, but this group of black and white photographs of the original image is very clear, the screen without loss of detail, only a shadow in the picture faintly suffused with silver, tell people it's long history, very rare.
According to Wang's research, silver halide photos strictly printed, full of after fixing and washing, 100 years would not change much. Photo set of mounts and the papers are pure wood pulp production, and dry air, acid-free, extended contraction, played a role in protecting these precious photos. "Few scattered, generic color, or moldy, saved well. ”
Jiangsu Provincial Academy of social sciences, Director of the Institute for historical Wang Weixing comments on the photos was textual criticism. He told reporters that in the first few pages of the album has four or five were taken in Nanjing, "can very clearly make out Japanese troops in Nanjing where the mass murder. Including the suburbs near the city walls, along the Yangtze River ... ... Particularly precious is that we saw for the first time the Japanese army at the time of the Republic Airport, Nanjing University after the massacre of the tragic scene, bodies piling up in the photo, this is extremely rare image of historical data. ”
Generously donated the valuable old photographs of historical materials, photographer Wang, although quite reluctant, "but hopefully it will help us remember that period of history of the Chinese nation, provide a copy of evidence. ”
In addition, he also called for all types of museums in the country should pay attention to the original film, protection and collection of photos. "Vicissitudes of China during the past century, are concentrated in the on photo paper and the bottom slab, compared to the thousands of text and description of the painting, this way is more intuitive, more precious. ”
