　　20日，今年以来最强暴雨袭击广东，广东多地出现暴雨局部大暴雨，其中茂名信宜出现特大暴雨，刷新了日雨量历史极值，广东多条河流出现超警戒洪水，暴雨重灾区茂名信宜市山洪暴发，洪水漫堤。

　　据茂名市委宣传部通报，初步统计，今次强降雨造成茂名市23个镇，其中信宜19个镇、高州4个镇共55万多人受灾，其中信宜542000人、高州15421人受灾，转移54669人；死亡8人、失踪4人，全部为信宜居民。

　　据现场工作人员介绍，目前，暴雨已经停止，茂名市派出工作组抢险救灾转移受灾群众，救援正在进行当中。

　　国家防汛抗旱总指挥部办公室20日通报，受强降雨影响，目前南方地区有13条河流出现超警戒水位。

　　目前，国家防总已派出9个工作组分赴福建、湖南、安徽、江西、浙江、湖北、广东、广西、贵州等省区，协助地方开展防灾抗灾工作。
