本次宣布合作的两家企业中，空天科技主要研究航空航天技术和新概念、新型飞行器。而钱旺信控集团则为互联网企业，业务范围包括电子商务、生物科技、现代农业等。空天科技方面表示：本次和钱旺的合作，将解决一直困扰该企业的研发资金不足的问题。而对于钱旺信控集团来说，与空天科技合作，参与无人机市场的竞争，表明其正式进入高科技领域，将有助于其形成前端研发能力、中端生产能力和后端商业支撑的生态系统。
同时，钱旺董事局主席张小雷表示，他们在无人机方向早有调研和规划，主要是为了解决业务过程中遇到的农产品的运输问题以及农业生产智能化提高效率的问题，于是将目光转向无人机。

据介绍，双方的合作将围绕两部分展开：一方面，成立空天科学实验室——四川钱翼空天科技有限公司，专门研发孵化无人机新品；另一方面，注册成立四川雷神空天科技有限公司，以大型货运无人机和小型航空发动机两个项目为启动项目，在成都建立国内最大的无人机产业园，负责科技成果的转化、生产、销售。

此外，发布会现场进行了多种无人机原型机的展示和试飞，双方还公布了即将要推出的几款无人机新品：首先是农业植保机，按照不同的型号配置，一天作业喷药杀虫面积可以从150亩到600亩，一人可以控制多台无人机自动作业，可有效缩短作业时间、节省人力成本；其次是研发生产载重量更大、续航能力更强的多用途旋翼货运无人机，帮助闭塞山区打通“最后一公里”，实现优质农产品的输出；同时，双方也会研发一些小型摄影无人机这类消费级别的无人机产品。
