5月29日，比特币价格一度涨至一枚近4000元人民币，一周暴涨30%。真是你方唱罢我登场，继股市、黄金以及其他大宗商品等之后，迎来的又是一次等待最后接棒者的投机炒作。比特币，因其匿名、完全去中心化等“优点”，被精美包装之后进入了金融市场。在过去几年，曾一度受到欧美日的狂热追捧，价格从几乎“零”曾飙升至1216.73美元（约合8000元人民币），超过当时黄金的价格！
然而，由于比特币的交易平台之不确定性、交割波动大、并被非法利用，如涉及走私、贩毒、涉黄、洗钱、非法转移资产等丑闻不断，受到了各国政府的打压。
随着各国政府不断加强对比特币的监管，以及庄家的获利回吐，其价格又从最高的1216.73美元，曾大跌至250美元以下，跌幅近80%。
近二年来，中国投资者却在比特币不大的“盘子”中，扮演着举足轻重的角色。早在2013年9月-11月短短的3个月内，比特币的价格一度从每个人民币800元涨至8000元，9倍的涨幅吸引了大量中国投机客涌入。
比特币在发明时，是期望能取代法币，可当它进入市场之后，却恰恰和原始初衷背道而驰！现在凡投比特币的，除了非法之用，往往都奢望它能不断地升值，或指望着不断地低进高出炒作牟利。可比特币连货币的作用都起不到，还怎么可能取代法币呢？
事实上，市场上存在着两种“比特币”：第一种比特币，是具有梦幻般色彩的技术块比特币（blockchain-technology bitcoin）。这是一种货币的未来形式，也就是虚拟货币（virtual currency）。目前世界上与之相关的企业（包括硅谷）以此为基础，已投入数亿美元，欲建立一个无摩擦移动资产的商业模式。
何谓虚拟货币？欧洲银行管理局于2014年将其定义为：“既非由中央银行或公共机构颁发，也不一定要连接于一种法定货币，但作为支付手段被自然人或法人接受，并且可以进行转让、存储或可以进行电子交易的一种货币。”
由此可见，比特币并不是真正的货币，也非真正的商品。
国际支付应用软件TransferWise的CEO辛里克斯近日直言“比特币已死”，甚至连比特币的核心开发团队成员麦克·赫恩（Mike Hearn）也认为“比特币已经失败了”。
赫恩在接受媒体采访时表示：“现在已经没有人使用比特币，没有交易，整个系统走到了技术崩溃的边缘。”严格来说，赫恩是指除了黄赌毒洗黑钱等非法的交易行为，以及比特币本身的买卖，没有几个人真使用比特币……中国早在2013年12月下发的《关于防范比特币风险的通知》中指出，比特币是一种特定的虚拟商品，不具有与货币等同的法律地位，不能且不应作为货币在市场上流通使用。
比特币交易作为一种互联网上的商品买卖行为，普通民众在自担风险的前提下，拥有参与的自由。而从80%的比特币都集中在入行早的大玩家手里，只有很少一部分在散户手中，便可断定这完全是一个浅显的、不流通的封闭市场。明眼人不难看出，这是一个多么狭窄的交易市场。
据市场分析人士认为：这一次比特币的再度“疯狂”，与近期美联储加息预期有关，加息将导致美元指数走强，人民币汇率再度承受压力。如此一来，人民币贬值预期刺激中国投资者对比特币的需求大增，而来自中国的巨额个人存款正在寻找新的投资去处，比特币或是备选之一。
