今年3月，珠海市委书记李嘉被查，更早追溯到一年前，广东省纪委副书记、省监察厅厅长、省预防腐败局局长钟世坚涉嫌严重违纪违法，接受组织调查，钟世坚在2007至2011间任珠海市委副书记、市长。
珠海政协主席钱芳莉被查 或因其子收受地产项目干股
6月8日上午10:00，中纪委官方网站发布消息，广东省珠海市政协主席钱芳莉涉嫌严重违纪问题，正在接受组织调查。
公开资料显示，钱芳莉1954年10月生，今年62岁，安徽安庆人，1974年5月参加工作，在安徽省安庆市工作了13年，1987年前往广东，任华南师范大学纪委正科级秘书、党委组织部干部科科长，其后在华南师范大学党委工作17年。
2002年2月起，她出任珠海市委常委、组织部部长。2008年7月起，钱芳莉出任珠海市委副书记，又于2011年12月转任市委委员、市政协党组书记，并于2012年1月起担任珠海市政协主席至今。
根据在珠海市政协官方网站中显示，钱芳莉最后一次公开露面是在今年5月23日-24日，参加全国政协科教文卫体委员会调研组在珠海市的调研活动。不过重庆晨报－上游新闻记者注意到，珠海市政协官方网站中关于钱芳莉的相关新闻已经无法打开。

3月24日，中央纪委发布消息，广东省委常委、珠海市委书记李嘉涉嫌严重违纪，目前正接受组织调查。
李嘉也成为广东省在“十八大”之后落马的第四名副省级以上官员。另三名分别为原广州市委书记万庆良、原广东省政法委书记朱明国、原广东省副省长刘志庚。
李嘉自从1987年于中山大学毕业后，一直在广东省任职。2012年2月，他开始担任珠海市委书记。2012年5月，李嘉开始担任广东省委常委、珠海市委书记。
