据台湾“中央社”报道,马来西亚的粽子称作ketupat,在东南亚一带有马来西亚人居住的地方,都可以看到这种食物,ketupat在欢庆伊斯兰开斋节的时候,几乎是不可或缺的。

报道称,马来粽可分两种:一种是用棕榈叶包裹的,从叶子空隙放入事先用椰浆煮过的半熟米,另一种是用椰叶扎成,只用白米制成,主要用来配食沙爹四角形粽子。

越南粽子(Bánh chưng)呈方形,长得像块大饼,是越南的春节食品之一。做法是将糯米浸泡后加肥猪肉、绿豆和黑胡椒作馅,以柊叶包裹、蒸熟,蘸鱼露食用。

希腊粽(Dolmathakia)是希腊传统甜点或小吃。主要用煮过的葡萄叶包成,以米为主食,内馅可加入新鲜的香料、肉类、蔬菜果干等,制成不同的味道,水煮后食用。

巴西粽(Pamonha)是巴西中北部的小吃,将玉米磨成浆再用玉米叶包成,味道较单纯,没有复杂的口味,水煮后就可食用。

墨西哥粽(Tamale)做法类似巴西粽,以玉米叶或蕉叶包裹,有别于巴西粽的单纯,墨西哥粽会将肉、香料、南瓜子、葡萄仁、杏仁、橄榄、辣椒、虾仁等等混入玉米浆中,口味五花八门。
