据当地政府部门通报，当天下午15时30分许，樟市派出所接芦溪村干部报称：在樟市镇芦溪天池山电站，发现一具尸体。接报后，派出所值班民警立即赶赴现场处置。
据向死者同伴张胜发了解，当天，张胜发与死者等一共5名网约驴友到樟市镇芦溪天池山登山，约14时30分，在天池山雪花顶煮饭时突遇山洪暴发。
