Huawei France set up the second Institute of mathematics, strengthen basic research-Huawei, math-IT information

6月15日消息,华为周二宣布在法国设立数学研究所,拥有研究人员超80人,全部为博士及以上学历,成为其加强基础科学研究的又一重要举措。

华为法国数学研发中心位于法国92省布洛涅市,旨在挖掘法国基础数学资源,致力于通信物理层、网络层、分布式并行计算、数据压缩存储等基础算法研究,长期聚焦5G等战略项目和短期产品,完成分布式算法全局架构设计等。目前,华为在全球建立了16个研究所,其中法国研究所下设设计、数字图像处理、数学和家庭终端等4个研究中心。

此前华为曾在俄罗斯设立首个数学研究所,并在3G和2G在算法层面带来了突破。

任正非不久前曾表示,华为现在的水平尚停留在工程教学、物理算法等工程科学的创新层面,尚未真正进入基础理论研究。随着逐步逼近香农定理、摩尔定律的极限,而对大流量、低时延的理论还未创造出来,华为已感到前途茫茫、找不到方向。华为已前进在迷航中。重大创新是无人区的生存法则,没有理论突破,没有技术突破,没有大量的技术积累,是不可能产生爆发性创新的。

华为常务董事、战略Marketing总裁徐文伟表示,“数学是开启一切的工具,大数据流量疏导的基础是数理逻辑算法。长久以来,法国诞生了无数世界一流的数学家,笛卡尔、帕斯卡尔、伽罗瓦、傅立叶……如果没有傅立叶变换,可能就没有现代通信的发展。今天,这个传统依然被法国学者们传承下来,菲尔茨奖得主多达12位,仅次于美国。数学的研究正在为ICT产业带来全新的突破。”
