　　此外，近年来，公益事业早已成为彭丽媛新的工作重心之一。她的身份有世界卫生组织艾滋病防治亲善大使、全国结核病防治形象大使”、“控烟形象大使”等等。

　　早在2006年初，彭丽媛就收到了一份“最好的新年礼物”：卫生部邀请她成为一名预防艾滋病义务宣传员。两个月后，彭丽媛来到安徽阜阳，看望艾滋病贫困儿童救助协会的200多个孩子。有个小朋友特别喜欢唱歌，她还把她领到宾馆去，亲自辅导。从此，她便成了这些孩子口中的“彭妈妈”。

　　为了普及结核病防治知识，2009年她曾前往广东东莞，给当地的农民工上“防治科普课”；而中国控烟协会的相关负责人也曾表示：“彭丽媛对控烟活动一向十分支持，每次只要有相关宣传活动，都会积极配合。”
