飞机上能够使用WiFi上网,其原理是什么呢?其实很简单,飞机上的网络信号,来自于太空中的卫星。在当前的航空卫星通信系统中,最常见的是利用Ku波段和Ka波段展开的卫星通讯。其中,Ku波段卫星通信技术从2004年便开始部署使用,在传输带宽、速率及设备成本等方面都具有诸多优势,已成为目前全球较为主流的一种航空通讯技术方式,并且也被应用于国际空间站的信息通信上。

目前已知的Ku波段卫星通信技术理论下行速率最高可达70Mbps,但由于在信号传输过程中损耗等多种因素影响,卫星与飞机间的实际下行速率仅在30-40Mbps左右。同时,实际上网速度体验,还会受到地面网络速度,连接网站的差异,覆盖航线内飞机数量,以及机内上网人数等不同因素的影响。Ku技术也是我国批准的民航互联网接入技术,现在国内的不少航班也有WiFi覆盖哟,不过其上网方式大多是内网传输,真正实现在飞机上连接互联网,尚需时日。
