然而这个现状并没有持续多久，2015年11月，韩薇旗下的熙颐影业全资收购游族美国公司，彻底撇清了与游族影业的雇佣关系。完成收购之后，林奇作为个人股东加入熙颐影业，而韩薇将继续担任游族Bliss电影基金的创始合伙人。

一位已经离职的前游族影业员工向数娱梦工厂透露，过去两年间，游族影业已经从鼎盛时期的120多人，锐减到60人，现在更少到只有30多人的规模。“微博一个多月才更新，也是因为宣发团队几乎流失殆尽。”
上述人士所说的微博，正是三体电影的新浪官微。除去6月17日的对外声明和危机公关，从5月13日后，三体电影官方微博有近一个多月的时间没有过更新。
据这位影族影业的前员工反映，这家电影公司后续的氛围笼罩在一种人人都在推脱责任，各扫门前雪的状态中。“多一事不如少一事，这也是为什么微博后来没人管的原因。”
从游族影业这些前员工的口述中，外界可以发现，游族高层动荡的背后，所带来的不良影响不仅仅只是高管间权力格局的重新分配，更大的隐忧在于，凝聚中层和基层的企业文化出现了巨大崩塌。人心涣散，人人自危，或许有一些危言耸听，但可能可以部分诠释游族影业此前的某种状态。
游族的一位前高层向数娱梦工厂表示：“林奇一开始有点用力过猛，他相信游戏的管理方法，想用互联网的方法去改造一个看似非常传统的行业，但这样做让做电影出身的人就会比较难受。而在团队磨合差不多之后，林奇又找来来自游戏公司的人做高管，于是公司管理层意见就较难统一”。
导演躺枪背后：《三体》IP谈判埋下的人选伏笔

在许多《三体》迷的心中，刘慈欣的这部中国顶级科幻小说只有让卡梅隆、斯皮尔伯格这样的大导演来驾驭，才能够配得上《三体》的高逼格。即使是中国国内，也应该由知名一线导演来操刀才具有说服力。许多人至今无法明白，《三体》电影为什么要请此前只有三部非知名作品导演经历的张番番来执导。
张番番导演，来自豆瓣的介绍显示，1973年生，东北人，他的电影作品分别是《密室之不可靠岸》、《密室之不可告人》、《信箱》。这三部电影在豆瓣的打分，没有一部超过6分，用豆瓣标准来看，全部“不及格”。
在导演人选的定夺上，林奇和孔二狗也并非门外汉，但是为了想拿下《三体》这个大IP，林奇选择了去赌一把。
另一个接受采访的游族影业前高管告诉数娱梦工厂：“他们（张番番团队）很强势，带着两个律师和你谈，要改哪里还可以谈，一旦谈到导演的问题，就立马走人，一点余地也没有。之前张番番和很多电影公司谈过，但都没有结果。而当时刚成立的游族影业，作为一个电影行业的创业公司，最终魄力比较大地拿下了。”
“这是我比较佩服二狗的地方，一个S级的项目，能够让别人很快知道你这个公司而且愿意主动找你合作。”该人士表示。
特效预估不足？《三体》屡换特效团队
有消息称《三体》是在杀青之后才开始找特效团队，推迟上映的原因是跟特效制作未完成有关。
对此，游族影业今日的声明称，《三体》作为中国首部真正意义上的科幻电影巨作，在后期特效阶段延长时间细心打磨，是由于进一步提高了对作品质量的要求、细心打磨的考虑。目前《三体》电影后期特效由来自美国、韩国、德国及中国国内的国际顶尖团队协同进行，其中包括全球知名的视觉效果公司Pixomondo。
原三体项目总策划、《三体》话剧幕后推手、前游族影业副总裁杨璐今日表示，《三体》并非是杀青之后才开始找特效，之前他也引荐给很多特效团队给三体剧组，而导演当时希望集中在一家公司做，再分包给其他公司做，这也没什么问题。
“可能在把工作的难度和我们的要求估计得没有那么充分，毕竟是第一次干。比如可能我们预计一个月的特效要一个半月才能完成，预计50人能完成的特效需要200人完成。所以发现原来得预算、人力不够，所以后期在加预算。全世界这样的项目都不可能一个特效团队做完。”杨璐表示。
不过，更多网友更愿意相信是这次《三体》特效不行，更有粉丝表示要“交给好莱坞拍”。那么《三体》的特效团队到底是一种怎样的状态呢？见诸媒体报道的是，最早启用的特效团队正是VHQ。
《三体》原制片人诸葛小花今日在接受毒药采访时表示，“后期团队我们原本是跟VHQ公司合作，但他们公司接触这种项目也比较少，所以主要后期制作分别交给了一家德国公司和一家韩国公司。而明迪传媒，我们聘请他们的董事长做我们的特效总监，他之前做过包括《复仇者联盟》等大项目。而他们公司与我们的合作主要是前期的数据管理、模型管理等。”
不过，知乎网友李昊彦曾对VHQ进行过细致分析，给出了一种特效团队选择的另一可能，发现VHQ核心业务并不在电影上，真正挂名参与的影片也只有《九层妖塔》和《狼图腾》等几部国产电影，并非像媒体此前宣传的那样是深度参与《阿凡达》制作的国际顶尖特效团队。
直到VHQ特效制作失败，重置特效团队的选择权才重新落回制片方的手上。4月5日，游族影业与明迪传媒正式签约。明迪传媒是一家成立于2014年的特效制作公司，据张番番介绍，CEO彭善明曾旅美十几年，有着丰富的视觉特效行业从业经验。
