神秘化石深夜遭盗挖

接到电话后，镇雄县文化馆馆长成忠义、副馆长李朝云迅速赶到现场勘查，发现被盗挖处还残留着部分化石，立即对风化石进行挖刨，刨出来一块长约30厘米的化石和几块散落下来的残片。
“这个化石不是动物骨骼化石，动物肉身根本成不了化石，它绝对是一块年代久远的植物化石。”根据30多年的文物管理和考古经验，成忠义当即否定了村民们关于蟒蛇或苍龙化石的猜测，立即向大家介绍化石知识，讲解文物保护法，请村民今后发现此类化石及时联系文物管理部门。
随后，为了妥善管理和保护这个年代久远的植物化石，成忠义把此次发掘出来的化石全部运到镇雄县文化馆。
考证
初步判定为植物化石
13日，成忠义立即与云南省文物考古研究所研究员吉学平、重庆中国三峡博物馆研究员胡昌健、重庆三峡古人类研究所魏光标博士等专家联系，并将这个化石的图片、视频和实物样品发给对方。16日，经过上述专家们的联合分析考证，一致认定这个化石属于距今3亿年~2.5亿年前的二叠纪鳞木化石。
成忠义说：“二叠纪属于3亿~2.5亿年前古生代的最后一个地质时代和最后一个纪，是生物界的重要演化时期。同时，也是重要的煤炭形成时期。这个二叠纪鳞木化石具有极其重要的科学研究价值，它将镇雄目前出土文物的形成时间从距今百万年‘拉长’到了更早的3亿年前。”
据了解，镇雄历史悠久，目前发掘出土了100多件比较有历史文化价值和科研考古价值的文物，其中包括：百万年前的野猪、犀牛、野牛等动物骨骼化石；战国时期青花瓷碗；西汉时期的五铢钱、铁器、西汉陶罐；东汉鐎斗、东汉青铜罐、黄陶俑、灰黄陶；唐代白瓷碗、黄陶寿枕；宋代土砖；元代玉马、元代护心镜；明代花瓶；清代瓷器、地契、乾隆通宝、咸丰铜钱……
