2005年,应佚伦考入华东理工大学精细化工专业,毕业后免试直升分析化学专业硕博连读研究生,2014年1月赴英国伯明翰大学联合培养,获得博士学位后,进入华东理工大学化学工程与技术博士后科研流动站工作,主要研究方向为纳米通道单分子分析及纳米光谱电化学,涉及化学、生物、医学等领域的前沿交叉研究工作。

听了她的简历,很多人心中都会油然而生一位“超级女学霸”的形象。不过在6月18日举行的上海民进教育论坛上,这位透着浓郁书卷气又不失青春可爱的姑娘在“我的求学经历与创新人才培养”主题发言中,坦然告诉在场的校长、专家,自己从小到大都非学霸,而是属于班级上占很大比例的那群“中等偏上”的学生。她说,她与来自其他国家的14位当年度“最具潜力女科学家”谈及“初高中教育对人生走向的最大影响”时发现,尽管大家来自不同国度、背景,但是她们一致认为,是学生时代志趣发掘与呵护奠定了自己未来对于科学事业的选择。

童年时,应佚伦也曾自发上过钢琴班、奥数、绘画和计算机课,但都兴之所至又“半途而废”,不过父母对此均不强求。同样,父母也未给她报过任何补习班,对她的成绩也无强制要求。应佚伦的父母均从事绘画工作,但他们同样在绘画上也并未对她有所特别要求或制定远大目标,如今应佚伦对于绘画也仅限于临摹还不错。

在应佚伦的父母看来,帮助孩子发现真正的兴趣远比继承衣钵和考级拿奖重要,这让应佚伦到现在都很感动。

应佚伦初中就读于一所普通中学——娄山中学,当时她就对生物、地理等“理科副科”掌握得特别迅速,也显示出特别的兴趣。“初一,当长宁区少科站生物兴趣小组来校招收学员,我毫不犹豫地报名参加了,从初一到初三,在那个兴趣班上,我实实在在动手做了许多有意思的生物实验,例如昆虫标本制作,小动物神经系统、消化系统标本制作、植物组织培养等等。”应佚伦说,“这些动手做的生物实验让我获得了非常大的成就感,并能刺激我去思考实验背后的科学原理。”

初高中接触化学后,应佚伦就发现自己对化学特别感兴趣,化学成绩基本能保持在班级前三甲。高中应佚伦考入市三女中,由于该校建有完备的生物、化学实验室,定期向学生开放,可自由出入使用,更是成为她发展自己兴趣爱好的“乐园”。

“我第一次在显微镜下看到了植物组织切片,亲手操作了多个实验,这让我不仅记住了概念公式,也通过实践还理解了其中缘由,大大增加了我对化学与生物的兴趣。”应佚伦说,“市三宽松与自由的学习环境赋予我更多的空间,在课余生活中主动学习各种课本以外的科学知识、拓宽眼界,也使我更加确定了对化学的喜爱。”

不“随大流”选择大学与专业

应佚伦说,她至今都能背出市三的校训:独立、能干、关爱、优雅,“市三把‘独立’放在校训首位,我觉得对‘独立’个性的培养也是创新人才培养不可或缺的。如果没有‘独立’判断能力,我可能也会‘随大流’地选择大学与专业,而不是毅然选择以化学化工为特色的华东理工大学。”

应佚伦认为,“独立”这一点或使得她比同龄人更早看清自己的特点,从而坚定自己的选择,踏踏实实、专注地朝着目标努力奋斗。

应佚伦说,市三“独立”个性的培养潜移默化地使她拥有了良好的科研素养,“初高中教育是兴趣的启蒙,是塑造个性与能力的关键时期,学校、教师需要营造适合学生的资源环境,提供成长建议。这样的介入又不能太多太限制,堵塞学生个人探索与独立选择通道。”

大学阶段,则是应佚伦自我认识、自我提升阶段。“大一、大二的时候我通过学习基础及专业课程,将初高中阶段启蒙的兴趣,逐渐转变为专业,从而确定自己的事业目标,抓住先机,提前进入新状态。”应佚伦说。

华东理工设有向本科生开放科研实验课程,鼓励独立承担小课题的机制,这种提前接触,就像是一块关乎未来与专业选择的“敲门砖”,对她明确自己想从事的目标有很大的助益,“通过这些实验和课程,我发现分析化学是我喜欢的,因为它能够去研究一些分析化学的手段,认识研究生物和化学的本质,在大三我明确了细分专业的一个目标,我想要读分析化学。”

“我想科研的本质对人才的要求就是独立、热情与勤奋。而这几点恰恰也是初高中以及大学教育所带给我的,也是我对创新人才培养的感悟。”应佚伦说,“对于我这样的不冒尖的普通学生,我想我们需要的是自由成长,发现兴趣,坚持选择,家人支持与名师提携。”

教育专家为“世界最具潜力女科学家”点赞

对于应佚伦的发言,参与论坛的上海建平中学校长杨振峰非常赞同,他说:“现在很多大学生填报志愿是盲目、跟风的,导致的结果是相对失业或者无法创新的,我理解的创新根本点在于干一行,爱一行,干到极致就是创新人才迸发的前提。”

杨振峰说:“应佚伦博士说过,她在中学里不是尖子生,但是我们往往一路选拔上来,把好学生贴上标签,实际上过早的贴标签不是成就人,而是捧杀人,这是基于传统文化背后的,把学生的个性、文明扼杀的过程。在中学基础教育阶段,生命科学地位并不高,但是对接物理、化学发展过程当中,生命科学确实非常重要。如果我们给孩子贴上标签,他们很可能被扼杀。”

华东师范大学教育学部主任袁振国教授也在发言中支持应佚伦的“兴趣驱动”观点。他认为,创新人才培养首先需要自由宽松的环境,没有人阻止他,干预他。其次是要有兴趣,并且能长期坚持,“没有兴趣,不是很喜欢这件事情,要想在这个领域里面有创造性是难以想象的。”第三,创新人才培养还需要跨学科,从上世纪70年代以后,诺贝尔奖获得者所有的奖项都在学科的交叉当中产生。

分管教育的奉贤区副区长倪闽景也认为,基础教育对创新人才培养最大的贡献,其实就是让教育更多样化。作为政府部门,他认为教育最重要的工作是下移重心,激活基层学校活力。他认为,不一样的学校,不一样的学生要用不一样的方式评价,应当“允许学校、教师犯错,甚至也要允许落后”,同时进行目标成果管理,并“让学校自己评价,然后再公开”。
