　　同日，广西玉林市政府官网发布“玉林市食品安全宣传周活动”通报，再次重申对餐饮单位、动物及动物产品检疫工作的监管。

　　值得注意的是，这一天，正是外界盛传玉林“荔枝狗肉节”的开幕日。而在此之前，当地政府曾多次通过媒体发声，称“荔枝狗肉节”纯系民间自发行为。

　　从少数民族的饮食习惯，到寻常百姓的居家风俗，再到遭到爱狗人士的非议，玉林的“荔枝狗肉节”正在遭遇一场民间对峙。

　　当荔枝碰上狗肉

　　最晚在清代末年，“夏至吃狗肉”就已在两广地区广为接受。清人屈大均在其《广东新语》中记载：“谚云：冬至鱼生，夏至狗肉。”

　　这种习俗流传甚广，甚至融入了两广百姓的日常生活中。

　　他在接受媒体采访时表示，吃狗肉的风俗原是当地少数民族的习惯，进而影响汉族居民，并冲击了汉族原有的“狗肉不上宴席”的观念。

　　为何狗肉独受青睐？有学者认为，吃狗肉的民俗，与两广地区气候炎热，易生瘴气有关。

　　玉林当地不少居民认为狗肉可以强身健体，因而吃狗成风。

　　此外，在上世纪六七十年代，由于猪肉价高，且供给有限，因此吃狗肉在玉林农村一度非常流行。

　　李禾对媒体介绍称，“当时猪肉9毛一斤，还要肉票，狗肉2毛一斤，不用肉票。”

　　1993年出版的《玉林市志》中，同样记载有“冬至鱼生夏至狗”的民谚。对玉林人而言，这一风俗是亲友团聚、增进感情的途径。

　　夏至、荔枝、狗肉，在玉林人心里，像是端午节要吃粽子，元宵节要吃汤圆，他们坚持着吃狗肉对身体好，并且是习惯多年的传统民俗。

　　据媒体报道，后因水源污染大，居民不再吃鱼生，而夏至吃狗肉的习惯则沿袭至今。

　　一名当地出租车司机告诉新京报记者，并非所有玉林人都吃狗肉、过“狗肉节”，他们一家没有吃狗肉的传统，但不阻止他人吃狗肉。

　　被问到哪里可以买到狗肉，玉林市民会帮忙指路：车站旁边的垌口市场，那里很多。昨日清晨，垌口市场依然人声鼎沸。

　　一位从事房地产宣传的当地女孩工作地点就在垌口市场附近。她经常看到有人推着大量死狗进出，但对此表示理解，“不做过度评价，自己虽然不吃，但有朋友好食狗肉。”

　　实际上，“狗肉节”并非玉林专属。此前，在江苏邳州、浙江金华等地，均有类似活动。

　　在不少动物权益保障组织眼里，正是这篇公开报道，让“荔枝狗肉节”进入公众视线。

　　据新华社报道，自2012年起，一些动物保护组织开始出现抵制玉林“狗肉节”的活动。2015年夏至期间，玉林市共处理来信161件，接待“爱狗人士”及志愿者来访6批次，投诉信件大多来自美国、意大利、澳大利亚、苏格兰等国家。

　　2012年，行为艺术家“片山空”来到玉林，当街向一批已被宰杀待售的狗下跪磕头。

　　“向狗谢罪”一事经网络发酵后，引发舆论持续关注。2014年6月21日，玉林狗肉节甫一开幕，旋即出现了伤人事件。当晚在一家狗肉餐馆，几名爱狗人士与当地食客发生冲突，导致一名食客嘴巴处流血。

　　“人狗之争”由此上演。

　　2014年6月6日，玉林市政府发布了《关于所谓“夏至荔枝狗肉节”的几点说明》。这篇说明中称，所谓“夏至荔枝狗肉节”只是个别商家和民间的一种说法，并不存在这样的节日，并坚称“政府或任何社会组织都从未举办过任何形式的此类活动”。
