据悉，伦敦议会旗下的警察和犯罪委员会近日召开会议，会议上副局长麦基(Craig Mackey)表示，警察在首都的大小街道上追捕“摩托车飞车党”是件十分危险的事情，由无人机接任这一任务相对比较安全。

近来伦敦飞车抢劫案激增，令警方飞车头痛，其中飞车抢劫手机的案例不占少数，此前还发生过警方追捕飞车抢劫犯而导致一名无辜少年死亡的事件，为了减少类似的事故再次发生，麦基表示警方会考虑用无人机追踪疑犯。

警方可利用无人机追踪及监事疑犯的活动路线，为警方提供追捕路线。另外出动无人机还会为警方省去一大笔因使用直升飞机而造成的费用。
