Typhoon named before the introduction of international rules, relevant countries and regions to the same typhoon names are different. To avoid confusion, in Hong Kong in November 1997 at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Typhoon Committee 30th meeting decided that from January 1, 2000, the Northwest Pacific and South China Sea tropical cyclone names with Asian-style uniform.
