由杭州市政府、阿里巴巴公益基金会主办的首届全球XIN 公益大会将于7月9日在杭州开幕，大会吸引了众多重量级嘉宾为公益站台点赞，联合国秘书长潘基文今天就在联合国官网上宣布：这个XIN大会，我要来！
是什么样的大会足以吸引到联合国秘书长为之站台乃至点赞？马云和阿里巴巴，又为何要办这个公益大会？
据了解，本次全球XIN公益大会高朋满座、宾客如云，但真正的主角却是一群默默无闻的草根英雄。
原来，马云和他的小伙伴们为了感谢这群一直以来默默躬身于公益事业，以一股股微弱的力量，践行着“让世界更美好”梦想的草根英雄们，决定“办一场世界级的大会，向世界讲述一个个‘小而美’的公益故事”。并且，作为发起人，从去年夏天开始，马云已经为这个大会默默准备了一年多的时间。
为了向这些草根英雄表达最赤忱的敬意和热爱，这次大会专门创造了一个无论是新华字典还是大不列颠百科全书都没有的新字：XIN(“亲”下面加“心”)。“亲”代表家庭和亲情，一种亲密的关系，寓意做公益不仅仅是个体的参与，更强调群体的融入，呼吁人人参与。“心”寓意用心和心态，做公益首先要用心，有真正的公益情怀，同时公益应该有“公益的心态，商业的手法”。
本次全球XIN公益将于7月9日至10日在杭州召开，参会嘉宾除了联合国秘书长潘基文、英国前首相戈登·布朗，还包括姚明、李连杰、可汗学院院长萨尔曼·可汗等众多走在公益一线的国内外大咖。此外，比尔盖茨、扎克伯格、莱昂纳多·迪卡普里奥、霍华德·舒尔茨也将通过视频分享公益理念。大会分为主论坛和5个分论坛，将探讨教育、互联网公益、环保、救援、医疗5大方面公益话题。
