"Lu Kang stressed that Australia was inadequate in the light of international law. China's respect for international law, in China's view, if there is any "grave violations of international law", the consequences should not just be "reputation costs". Therefore, the solemnity of China stands for upholding international law and resist any violation of international law. China hopes that Australia can also take international law seriously.
