《华尔街日报》称，ARM已经正式接受日本软银提出的243亿英镑收购要约，后者将以每股17英镑的价格收购ARM，较ARM上周五收盘价溢价43%。与此同时，软银收购ARM也将成为亚洲企业在英国完成的最大规模并购交易。
软银表示，收购之后将继续保留ARM现有的组织架构，也会将ARM总部继续留在英国剑桥，并保留ARM现有高管团队、品牌以及合作伙伴关系为基础的业务模式。软银同时还承诺，在未来五年内，将把ARM在英国的员工数量提升至少一倍，并增加公司在海外的员工数量。
软银CEO孙正义表示，“这是我们有史以来最重要的收购，期待ARM成为软银物联网战略前进的重要支柱。”
