今年3月，Danielson在认罪时表示，他曾用手电筒大小的绿色激光，闪烁巡逻飞机18至20次。其使用的是一个手持式激光设备，有效范围达6000英尺，强度超出法定上限的40倍。

美国地方法院称，Danielson因致盲飞行员带而导致CHP飞机紧急降落。
