据ETNews报道，中国的显示屏生产商正在把目光从LCD面板转移到柔性OLED面板上。ETNews表示京东方科技、华星光电、天马微电子和维信诺都准备推出柔性OLED面板的生产计划。
近年来，OLED市场在全球范围内发展迅速，在2015年就达到了130亿美元规模，预计到2020年全球OLED市场规模将会达到331亿美元规模。目前，世界上最大的OLED市场和面板生产商都集中在韩国。三星和LG也都有在押宝OLED业务，纷纷铺设OLED面板生产线。对于中国厂商来说，投不投入OLED市场是一个问题。一方面，他们之前已经向LCD面板市场投入了巨额资金，但仍未实现盈利。另一方面，如果不投入，一旦OLED成为技术主流之后，中国企业或许又会再次被国际抛离。
据ETNews透露，天马微电子和维信诺已经进行OLED投资，并开始购买生产柔性OLED显示面板的设备。京东方科技和华星光电则决定推迟建设第8代LCD生产线的计划，并于2016年底投资生产柔性OLED显示面板。
天马微电子已经在武汉投资了18亿美元，铺设第六代LTPS生产线，作为一个LCD工厂。但现在该公司已经决定将这条生产线用于柔性OLED显示面板，并计划在2017年进行大规模生产。在2016美国SID DisplayWeek 2016上，天马微电子还展示了一款5.5寸的柔性OLED显示面板。

在今年年初的时候，京东方科技就已经证实将在成都铺设第6代柔性OLED生产线，ETNEws表示，到2019年的时候，该生产线每月将可提供46000个基板，而投资总额将会达到37亿5000万美元。京东方科技同时也在鄂尔多斯投资建设第5.5代AMOLED生产线，但目前还没有建成。
在DisplayWeek 2016上，京东方科技展示了4.35寸的可弯曲/可折叠OLED显示屏。这个可弯曲面板的分辨率达到了1120×480，弯曲半径为15mm，亮度为350 nits，色域为100%NTSC。可折叠显示面板也差不多，只是弯曲半径更小，仅为5mm。
在2015年6月份的时候，京东方科技展示了一个大尺寸柔性OLED显示屏，包括一个分辨率为640×432的9.55寸透明柔性面板，以及一个分辨率为480×800的4.8寸面板。但新的显示面板拥有更高的分辨率和亮度，预计很快就可以进行商业化投产。
