7月23日消息，中国著名核科学家、中国科学院院士、南京航空航天大学教授陈达同志因病医治无效，于2016年7月22日8时09分在南京逝世，享年80岁。
陈达院士1937年7月出生于江苏省南通市，1963年毕业于清华大学工程物理系，2001年受聘为南京航空航天大学教授、博士生导师，2001年11月当选为中国科学院院士。曾任中国科学院咨询委员会委员，中国科学院技术科学部常委、副主任委员，中国科学院在苏院士咨询委员会主任委员，中国物理学会医学物理专业委员会顾问委员，江苏省医学物理专业委员会主任委员等。
陈达院士长期从事核科学技术研究工作，在核诊断学领域中取得了多项研究成果。先后承担和参与国家级、省部级各类科研项目50余项，曾获国家发明二等奖2项，三等奖1项，国家科技进步二等奖2项，部委级科技进步一、二等奖6项，光华科技基金一等奖1项。
2013年9月，由陈达院士领衔申报的国家重大科学仪器设备开发专项“工业物料成分实时在线检测仪器的开发和应用”顺利获批，该项目的立项对南航的核科学与技术学科以及其他相关学科的发展产生了巨大的带动作用。
