2015年12月至2016年1月间，犯罪嫌疑人邹某、李某等人注册成立上海红苏网络科技有限公司专门从事诈骗活动，由话务员章某在电话中虚构有客户要高价收购被害人持有的互联网域名、网络“关键词”等，将被害人骗至公司面谈。
2016年1月初，上海奉贤的王先生接到了章某打给他的电话，章某在电话中询问王先生，他持有的关键词“手推车”、“商业设施”是否愿意转让。随后，公司部门经理许某在与王先生的谈话中谎称北京北极光投资有限公司愿意以600万元收购王先生所有的关键词“商业设施”，但要办理好配套的版权证后才能交易。
经过数次商谈取得了王先生的信任后，1月11日，许某等人诱使王先生与红苏公司签订《网络资源代理协议》等。随后，许某、李某等谎称北极光公司已支付保证金，并PS了汇款到账凭证诱骗王先生支付了5万元版权登记代理费。
