今天要说的，是一个感人的故事……故事的主人公是一只脚踩轮子、会奔跑、会爬坡的机灵小兔子 ——玉兔号月球车。它是一只看过最多星星的兔子，它在宇宙中孤独斗争了972天，昨天它永远离开了我们。7月31日，它在微博上最后一次跟大家道晚安——
苍茫太空，一轮明月，千百年来，引发了人类无数遐想。广寒宫里，真的嫦娥起舞，月桂飘香？遥远的神话，激起了人类探秘的好奇。
两年半前的2013年12月2日，一只中国制造的“玉兔”偎在嫦娥三号的怀抱里，从西南腹地的西昌启程，“闯”进了月宫，在月球上踩出了第一个脚印。

虽然没看到雄伟的广寒宫、没闻到清新的桂花，更没有邂逅美若天仙的嫦娥，但是38万公里之外广袤奇特的世界，依然让奔跑的兔子和身后的科学家兴奋不已。玉兔很快就进入了工作状态——
这里，没有一丝空气、一丝生机。
在长达半个月的白天，地面温度高达150度，一切物体都像放在烤箱里一样；
而到了同样连续半个月的夜晚，温度又跌落到让许多气体都能变成液体甚至凝固的零下180度！要知道，地球上曾经记录到的最低自然气温，依然“高达”零下90度。
剧烈变化的气温，只是一方面的考验。
月球上，致命的太空辐射充斥着每一个角落，无论是肉体，还是光学仪器，还是电子器件，随时都有可能被夺去生命。
然而就在这连生存都极其艰难的月球上，玉兔还要承担无比繁重的任务。
它需要给月亮拍照??
需要探寻地下埋藏的秘密??
玉兔号搭载着一部测月雷达，这部雷达完成了人类历史上首幅月球地质剖面图，揭露了月球雨海区域火山烟花的历史，也展现了月球表面以下330米深度的地质结构特征，而且还在月球上发现了新的玄武岩类别。
需要为未来的登月宇航员探寻是否有水分??
嫦娥三号和玉兔配合，首次发现了月球上没有水的直接证据。此前，美国哈勃望远镜所观测到的月球地表的含水情况比我国此次观测的高两个数量级，而此次的观测则直接得出了有史以来的最低值，这是国际首次明确验证月球上没有水。

嫦娥三号上的月基光学望远镜还有极紫外相机，分别完成了首次月球北极上空的天体普查，还有地球上空等离子体层的观测。

而这一切，都是依靠非常原始的“大脑”完成的。由于太空环境实在恶劣，航天器的电脑往往都需要牺牲性能，以维持正常运转。小兔子的中央处理器，只相当于20多年前家用电脑的水平……
而地球上，却挤满了早已习惯一言不合就想搞来好几TB数据的科学家。
为了满足科学家无比“贪婪”的胃口，小兔子只能从太阳一升起来就不停地测啊、算啊，直到十几天后太阳下山才能休息。
这样的日子持续了一个月……
二个月……
三个月……尽管这时候小兔子的服务“合同期”已经满了，然而科学家一点儿停下的意思都没有。
半年……
一年……
两年……
两年半……
原本它的设计寿命只有3个月，但却可以在超期服役的情况下，健康工作两年半。这一数据创下了月面工作的最长记录。
这段时间，玉兔与嫦娥三号共记录下7TB的数据，为人类的空间探索事业创下多项重要研究成果，现在，这些数据已经被分发给国内上千所高校，以供未来研究。
这是中国航天的骄傲！
