中共南京市六合区委宣传部官方微博@六合发布 8月4日消息，针对被民众质疑的六合垃圾焚烧站，六合区政府发布通告称，新材料产业园生活垃圾焚烧热电联供项目，在建设单位组织的环评公众参与、征求公众意见阶段，事件引起社会各界广泛关注，六合区人民政府经广泛听取各方面意见，决定终止该项目。
据澎湃新闻（www.thepaper.cn）此前报道，近日，有家住南京六合区的居民向澎湃新闻称，当地政府打算在该区瓜埠镇沙子沟村投入2.8亿元建一座垃圾焚烧站，选址距离居民区仅500米不到。
澎湃新闻记者了解到，该垃圾焚烧站项目全称是南京市六合区生物质热电联产项目，建设单位是光大城乡生物能源（南京）有限公司。
8月1日下午17点58分，六合区政府通过官方微博@六合发布 称，目前，该项目正处于建设单位组织的环评公众参与、征求公众意见阶段。对群众反映的意见，区政府高度重视，已责成区相关部门对项目选址进行进一步科学评估，更加广泛听取各方面意见，在此期间，所有部门不得审批，项目不得实施。
