杨柱担忧的问题最后并没有发生。2015年9月29日，云南省高院开庭再审该案。同年12月21日，云南省高院以原判认定钱仁风犯投放危险物质罪事实不清，证据不足，故再审宣判钱仁风无罪。
宣判无罪的当天，杨柱与钱仁风等人手拉着手走出法庭，并送她回老家，表情严肃。这在杨柱看来，虽然被判无罪了，但是真凶还没有抓到，令其难安。
今年6月1日，钱仁风向云南省高院申请赔偿，要求赔偿义务机关支付国家赔偿金9553043.65元，并要求道歉。次月8日，云南省高院召开钱仁风申请国家赔偿案听证会。会上，云南省高级人民法院副院长、国家赔偿委员会主任田成有代表云南高院向钱仁风鞠躬赔礼道歉。
如今，钱仁风获得了国家赔偿款，虽然与申请的差距较大。但杨柱认为，大家不应该纠结她到底获得了多少赔偿，和她到底生活过得怎么样，而是应该共同努力促进法制进步。
