作为中华传统医学的瑰宝，拔罐因疗效显著受到众多外国运动员的青睐，将其作为自己训练和比赛的一种恢复手段。美国游泳运动员菲尔普斯更是为拔罐“实力代言”。
据国家中医药管理局统计，中医药已传播到183个国家和地区，我国与外国政府、地区和国际组织已签订86项中医药合作协议，建设了10个海外中医药中心，并在“一带一路”沿线国家建立了10所中医孔子学院。
过去五年，以中医药为代表的传统医学首次纳入世界卫生组织国际疾病分类代码。中医药相继纳入中国和美国战略经济对话框架、中国和英国经济财经对话框架，《中国对非洲政策文件》明确支持“开展中非传统医药交流与合作”。
针灸、拔罐、刮痧……一直以来，中医药用多种方式在养生保健和疾病诊疗方面为人类健康作出巨大贡献。
根据国家中医药管理局发布的中医药发展“十三五”规划，到2020年，实现人人基本享有中医药服务。中医药医疗、保健、科研、教育、产业、文化发展迈上新台阶，标准化、信息化、产业化、现代化水平不断提高。中医药健康服务新业态不断涌现，服务技术不断创新，产品种类更加丰富，品质更加优良，带动相关支撑产业发展。

康复服务
规划提出，支持中医医院康复科和中医特色康复医院建设，推动各级各类医疗机构开展中医特色康复医疗、训练指导、知识普及、康复护理、辅具服务，在社区康复机构推广适宜中医康复技术，提升社区康复服务能力和水平。
健康管理
规划指出，开展中医特色健康管理，以慢性病管理为重点，以治未病理念为核心，探索融健康文化、健康管理、健康保险为一体的中医健康保障模式。鼓励保险公司开发中医药养生保健、治未病保险产品，通过中医健康风险评估、风险干预等方式，提供与商业健康保险产品相结合的疾病预防、健康维护、慢性病管理等中医特色健康管理服务。
健康养老
规划要求，所有二级以上中医医院均与养老机构开展不同形式的合作。鼓励和支持中医医院通过特许经营等方式，新建、托管协作举办中医药特色医养结合机构。支持中医医疗机构将中医药服务延伸至社区和家庭，开展上门服务、健康查体、保健咨询等服务。
健康旅游
规划指出，推动旅游业与中医药健康服务业深度融合，初步构建起我国中医药健康旅游产业体系。建设国家级中医药健康旅游示范区（基地、项目），开发和丰富中医药健康旅游线路和产品，培育具有国际知名度和市场竞争力的中医药健康旅游品牌。
当然，作为服务外交、促进民生、密切人文交流的重要载体，今后五年，中医药还将积极在海外发展：
——支持各类优秀中医药机构与“一带一路”沿线国家合作成立中医药中心；
——打造高水平合作机制与平台，为有条件的中医药机构“走出去”搭建平台，营造良好的政策发展环境；
——大力发展中医药服务贸易；支持有条件的中医药机构在境内外设立中医药服务贸易机构，培育一批国际知名品牌……
