2.令人窒息的竞争
我们雄心勃勃，我们特别有才，我们努力学习，这几点你都不需要怀疑。我们创办公司，我们出书，我们在课外活动中位列全美前茅，这些都是建立在维持4.0绩点的基础上。但这些都是有代价的。
在这里，你的价值大多是由一些数字决定的。我已经记不清爸妈问我SAT能考多少分的次数，也记不清他们问我要报考什麼大学的次数，他们会因為我的回答改变对我的看法。我告诉他们，这些表面的东西并不能定义我！
3.荒谬的时间安排
下课以后，体育训练2-3小时，接着练习乐器1-2小时，接着才到吃晚饭时间。
吃完饭1个小时，做家庭作业1个小时，然后你以為9点就能睡觉了？当然不是！当你有5门大学预修课的时候，你的作业就超级恐怖了。然后你还参加了不少的俱乐部和学生组织，然后你还在学生会里面掺活……
所以，什么时候放松呢？我们如今都深陷在这种心态里面：以后再放鬆也不迟。“我现在努力学歷，以后再好好享受我的生活。我现在不放鬆没有关係，因為生活会越来越好呀。”这其实是一种永无止境的死循环。
所以我现在唯一想说的事情就是：硅谷的难兄难弟们，请享受你的生活。你要雄心勃勃，要勤奋学习，但是业不要忘了停下来闻闻花香。毕竟，没有享受的生活还叫什麼生活呢？
