　　直到2015年年末，李东虎在电视上看到一部名叫“滕县保卫战”的专题片。就是这部电视专题片让李东虎将村里口口相传的故事和抗日战争的首场胜利——台儿庄战役联系在一起，并开启了他半年多的寻访和调查。今年5月，李东虎辗转联系上四川的烈士遗属，终于将他的调查结果交到了当时参加战役的川军22军团长何煋荣之子何允中手中。

　　而对于吕高群来说，最重要的一本文字史料是第五战区苏北抗日游击总队第一支队队长冯子固的回忆录《鸡鸣集》。这本回忆录记载了滕县战役后的川军与苏北人民共同抗日的经过。

　　郝敬利告诉记者，由于杨屯和附近8个村落处于煤矿塌陷区，正在进行搬迁工作。杨屯中学在秋季开学前就会搬迁完毕。“目前暂时没有危险，但数年后可能出现塌陷，到时候杨屯中学这片就变成湖了。”
