探访阿尔金山无人区野生动物天堂
千龙网新疆若羌8月16日讯（记者 杜晓航）由新疆维吾尔自治区互联网信息办公室、巴音郭楞蒙古自治州党委宣传部共同主办的大型网络文化活动“穿越楼兰”日前来到阿尔金山自然保护区，众多媒体记者对保护区现状做深入了解。

成立于1983年5月的阿尔金山国家级自然保护区是中国设立最早、受保护面积最大的高原荒漠生态系统保护区，整个保护区面积4.7万平方公里，平均海拔近4800米，与青海、西藏交界，是高山环绕的封闭性盆地，有3个面积超过150平方公里的湖泊。阿尔金山山脉蒙语意为“有柏树的山”。山脉地处藏北高原北缘，南北界于柴达木盆地和塔里木盆地之间，东西与祁连山和昆仑山两大山系相连，其山脉东西长约730公里，南北宽约60至100公里，近似东西走向。山脉东西部两端高，中部较低，海拔5000米以上的区段发育着现代冰川。

在阿尔金山保护区海拔4000多米的高原上，还分布着1000多平方公里的沙漠，这是世界上最高的高山沙漠。更为奇特的是，在高海拔沙漠上还有自然的泉水流淌。在海拔4000米的同一高程分布着三个巨大的泉眼，仿佛三个巨大的“沙眼”，顾起名为沙子泉，其中最大的一眼，泉口直径达200米。
经过30年来的保护，阿尔金山保护区高原特有的藏羚、野牦牛、藏野驴三大有蹄类动物种群数量已达6至9万头，脊椎动物种类由146种增加到204种，高等植物由241种增加到386种,成为了野生动物的天堂。
