在过去972天里，“玉兔”收获的13.9万条评论和17.9万转发、31.3个赞的背后，是一群科学传播工作者和一群科学爱好者团队共同的努力。
“这是一次很成功的科学传播，是个很好的传播方式样本。”果壳网总编徐来此前就此话题接受《第一财经日报》采访时认为。
在徐来看来，非V账号“月球车玉兔”之所以能取得如此好的传播效果，和它采取的传播路径直接相关。
但是，怎么把生涩的航天和太空知识向公众普及，借鉴美国国家航空航天局（NASA）的好奇号火星车的微博运营经验，微博账号“月球车玉兔”开始了大胆的航天器人格化尝试。

而美国《外交政策》杂志评价“月球车玉兔”账号时甚至认为，正是这个可爱的“男孩纸”，令中国的社交媒体运营迎来一次“意外的成功”，并“为十多年来努力寻求公关之道的中国太空计划指明了一条道路”。
敬业：完成大量探测工作
2013年12月，中国发射“嫦娥三号”探测器，探测器携带玉兔号月球车升空；12月14日，玉兔号在月球彩虹湾实现软着陆，这是自1976年苏联发射“月球-24”以来首个在月球上实现软着陆的人造物体。
设计质量140千克的玉兔号月球车，以太阳能为动力源，能耐受月球表面真空、强辐射、摄氏零下180度到零上150度的极端环境，同时具备20度爬坡、20厘米越障的能力，并配备有全景相机、红外成像光谱仪、测月雷达、粒子激发X射线谱仪等科学探测仪器。

这一成果意义重大。比如，科学家们早有研究，认为月球上大量存在地球上稀缺的氦-3资源，后者对于今后的核能研究举足轻重。月球到底有什么资源？这些资源如何分布？“玉兔号”作为先驱，已经为我们描绘了粗略的画卷。
此外，凭借“玉兔号”近3年运行经验的积累，中国的航天技术与应用探测技术经受住了残酷的实兵演练。随着去年12月暗物质探测卫星“悟空”升空，有望推动中国暗物质研究探测领域加速，其研究成果可能带来基础科学领域的重大突破。
