AMD公司自从诞生到现在已经过了47年，总部一直在美国桑尼韦尔市。20年前也就是1995年他们把总部大楼以9500万美元的价格卖给了投资信贷公司W.P. Carey，然后再租回来，从房东变成了房客。也就是说这20年AMD都是租着房子办公，而大楼所有人也就是这家信贷公司准备把土地出售给Irvine Company开发商，后者准备在此建造公寓，因此AMD要寻找新的总部大楼。

之前报道过AMD将自己的新总部搬到硅谷核心地区圣克拉拉市的广场园区，也就是和Intel做邻居，不过相比较于原来的办公大楼，全新的大楼面积却只有22万平方英尺，相比较于桑尼韦尔的现在的办公区整整少了20%。

AMD计划今年第三季度正式搬迁，预计年底之前搬迁完成，不知道换了全新的地方的AMD会不会有新气象呢？
