阿北表示，豆瓣阅读上线四年来，已经积累了两万多名作者和八千多部独家作品。到七月底豆瓣阅读有十部小说售出了影视改编权。作为一次试水，第一部短片《一日英雄》已经在上海电影节上放映。
此次影业公司的成立由豆瓣阅读总经理戴钦推动和负责，将从豆瓣阅读延伸出一个新的团队和组织。新的影业公司将选择好的豆瓣阅读小说，组织编剧、导演和主创，并参与后续电影的投资和开发。

豆瓣阅读经过半年多的试水，现在正式进入电影制作。豆瓣要开始做电影了。
豆瓣阅读在原创写作上努力了四年，已经积累了两万多名作者和八千多部独家作品。新的写作者不断涌入，每次征文两千多篇投稿里有超过一半的新作者。电子书出售之外版权经营也已经是阅读日益核心的营收来源。伴随今年开始豆瓣在文化和内容方向的努力，阅读也从在豆瓣旁边独立发展回归为豆瓣主线业务有机的一部分。
过去一两年里，影视公司和制片人不断来找豆瓣阅读购买原创小说，希望把它们拍成电影。到七月底我们有十部小说售出了影视改编权。但我们还想把这些故事真的变成电影，有一天能在大屏幕上被大家看见。作为一次成功试水，阅读的第一部短片《一日英雄》已经在上海电影节上放映，得到同行的广泛关注。
阅读的“影视改编”项目上线之后，已经有数百家影视公司和更多的编剧加入，关注和孵化新的编剧和影视制作项目。
